About the Host: Commander Dave

The first child of Hoquiam Policeman ‘Big Dave’ and Linda Pavletich, little Dave was raised in Hoquiam and started his radio career by building a pirate AM station in his bedroom that broadcast to North Hoquiam when he was in the 8th grade.  Al Dale, the afternoon disc jockey at KGHO, heard about Dave’s station, and offered him a weekend job at Top-40 icon KGHO in October, 1983 when Dave was 14.  When KGHO changed format, Dave was hired by Rhys Davis to work weekends at KXRO/KDUX when he was 16.  Upon graduation, Dave became the midday disc jockey on KXRO until he left to take a radio job in Centralia in 1988.
